Psalm 3:1-8
3:1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; (2) many are saying of my soul, there is no salvation for him in God. Selah (3) But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. (4) I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah (5) I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me. (6) I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. (7) Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. (8) Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah

Summary: David is looking to God for the saving of his body and soul.
ReplyDeleteApplication: Christ is our only hope. I need to trust in Him and His plan for my life.
Summary: David cries out to the LORD because Absalom’s men seem to have power over David. But David proclaims that the LORD is his everything, including his sustainer, defender and securer of Salvation.
ReplyDeleteApplication: LORD God, I do not know what this world has in store for me. I do not know what trials lay ahead, but I will not fear them at this current time because I know you are mightier than whatever comes. Your salvation is assured through Jesus Christ. Give me the faith to walk in ridiculous (but not foolish) ways for your glory, because I know my salvation is not on this earth, but in heaven.
